Payment Questions

What forms of payment do you accept?
 

The Mobile County Revenue Commission accepts the following types of payment:

PERSONAL CHECKS, CASHIERS CHECKS, MONEY ORDERS, CASH, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DISCOVER, E-CHECKS AND VISA CONSUMER DEBIT.

MasterCard, Visa – debit cards

2.0% Per transaction

MasterCard, Discover, Visa, Amex – personal credit cards 2.75% Per transaction
MasterCard, Discover, Visa, Amex – business credit cards 2.75% Per transaction
Minimum Convenience Fee $2.50 Per transaction
E-Checks FREE – ONLINE ONLY

You may elect to escrow your property tax payment through your mortgage company. This form of payment must be arranged between you as a taxpayer and your mortgage company.

If you have chosen to pay online through our secure web server, please be advised that your payment will be deducted from your bank account and post as a paid property tax account within 3 to 4 business days.

Please be advised that if your payment is a credit card/debit card, the convenience fee will appear as a separate charge.

If you are paying to redeem a property, you must have certified funds (cash, money order, credit card, cashier’s check)

 

Why hasn’t my check cleared the bank yet?

 

Each property tax payment check must be processed and the payment posted to each property tax account. This process may take several days to complete. If your mailed payment is postmarked on or before December 31st you will not be penalized.
